Mientras paseaba por el lugar, me conmovían las historias individuales de estos animales. Muchos de ellos habían sido mantenidos en condiciones inhumanas, confinados en jaulas diminutas, privados de su libertad y de la vida que merecían. Gracias al compromiso de los cuidadores de la reserva, habían encontrado un lugar seguro donde vivir, pero también me di cuenta de que su situación era compleja. Se habían humanizado tanto por sus experiencias pasadas que les resultaba extremadamente difícil/imposible reintegrarse en su hábitat natural.
As I walked around the site, I was moved by the individual stories of these animals. Many of them had been kept in inhumane conditions, confined in tiny cages, deprived of their freedom and the life they deserved. Thanks to the commitment of the reserve's caretakers, they had found a safe place to live, but I also realized that their situation was complex. They had become so humanized by their past experiences that it was extremely difficult/impossible for them to reintegrate into their natural habitat.
